APEDA facilitates first-ever export of fresh litchi from Punjab to Oman

FoodTechBiz Desk

In a significant milestone for India's agricultural exports, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has successfully facilitated the first-ever export of fresh litchi from Punjab to Oman. The initiative marks an important step towards expanding global market access for farmers from the state while promoting India's premium horticultural produce in international markets.

The export reflects APEDA's continued efforts to strengthen India's agri-export ecosystem by connecting farmers with overseas buyers and creating new export opportunities for high-quality fresh produce. By enabling direct access to international markets, the initiative is expected to help farmers realise better returns for their produce and enhance the global recognition of Punjab's premium litchi.

This milestone underscores India's growing presence in global agricultural trade and reinforces APEDA's commitment to empowering farmers, diversifying export destinations, and promoting the export of high-value agricultural products. The successful shipment to Oman is expected to pave the way for increased exports of fresh fruits from Punjab and further contribute to the country's agricultural export growth.
