APEDA flags off first export of organic apricots to the UAE

FoodTechBiz Desk

The Union Territory of Ladakh, in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), has facilitated the flag-off of the first 5 MT consignment of organic apricots from Ladakh to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), marking a significant milestone in expanding global market access for India's premium organic produce.

The export initiative has been made possible through a strategic collaboration with Lulu Group, with logistics support provided by CONCOR. The shipment is expected to open new international market opportunities for Ladakh's organic apricots while strengthening the region's export ecosystem.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing export opportunities for local farmers, reducing post-harvest losses, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities through improved access to high-value international markets. It also reflects APEDA's continued commitment to promoting India's premium agricultural produce globally and supporting the growth of agri-exports from emerging production regions such as Ladakh.
