Bühler–SABIL partnership for lasting operational excellence

FoodTechBiz Desk

On the opening day of the 42nd Saudi Agriculture Exhibition 2025, Bühler and SABIL formalized a strategic frame agreement that sets a new benchmark for capability building in the region’s food and grain sector. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen AlFadley, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture; Mr. Abdulrahman AlOwais, CEO of SABIL; and Mr. Heiko Feuring, Bühler President for Middle East, Africa, and India.

The partnership traces its origins to Bühler Networking Days 2025 in Uzwil, where SABIL’s CEO, Mr. Abdulrahman AlOwais, and COO, Mr. Mauro Barbieri, engaged with Bühler’s leadership to shape a comprehensive and tailored training agenda. These discussions culminated in a robust curriculum designed to elevate internal expertise, accelerate knowledge transfer, and embed a culture of continuous learning within SABIL—laying the groundwork for the agreement formalized in Riyadh.

“At its heart, this collaboration is about people—empowering teams to learn, adapt, and excel,” said Heiko Feuring, Bühler President for Middle East, Africa, and India. “By integrating leadership development and operational excellence, we are creating a sustainable learning ecosystem that drives long-term success.”

The Bühler–SABIL partnership represents a joint commitment to nurturing people capability as the foundation of enduring performance. The new framework brings together leadership development, operational excellence, and future-ready competencies in an integrated approach that aligns closely with SABIL’s vision to establish sustainable learning pathways and knowledge-sharing communities across its organization.

Key Pillars of Collaboration

  • Executive, management, and operations training

  • Sustainable learning paths and a culture of education

  • Operational excellence and continuous improvement

  • Future-oriented development

  • HR-aligned training in strategic domains

Beyond the signing, the partnership will see the rollout of phased programs that transform learning into measurable outcomes—enhancing decision quality, process reliability, safety, and efficiency across the value chain.

By investing in people and creating clear pathways for growth, Bühler and SABIL are building a foundation for lasting operational excellence—where today’s capabilities become the platform for tomorrow’s achievements.
