BENEO, a leading manufacturer of functional ingredients for food, animal feed and the pharmaceutical industry, is proud to announce that Dr. Uwe Boltersdorf has held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of BENEO GmbH since February 1, 2026.

After studying chemical engineering at the University of Dortmund, Uwe obtained his doctorate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT in Oberhausen. In previous positions at Bayer AG, Lanxess AG, thyssenkrupp AG and Sulzer AG, he gained more than 20 years of international management experience in production, process development and engineering.

On 1 April 2025, Uwe already became a member of the board of directors of CropEnergies AG, a sister company of BENEO that makes renewable products from biomass, as Chief Operating Officer. In addition to his new position as COO at BENEO, Uwe will also continue in this current position at CropEnergies AG. At BENEO, he is now responsible for Operations, including production, technology, supply chain management, quality, raw materials, health, safety and environmental protection, as well as sustainability.

As the new COO of BENEO, he succeeds Dr. Mike Eberle, who became CEO of the Südzucker Sugar Division at the end of October 2025.
