IMA Ilapak won the French Packaging Award 2022 thanks to its DELTA machine. IMA Ilapak and Maison Le Goff launched a new sustainable packaging on the market, which is 75% made of paper, reducing plastic use by 1500 tons.

On the occasion of the French Packaging Award 2022, IMA Ilapak collaborated with Maison Le Goff, producer - bio cookies and salty biscuits, after winning the same category in 2021 with its vegatronic vertical packaging machine, which is equipped with a special configuration that allows managing paper-based films.

IMA Ilapak and Maison Le Goff won the French Packaging Award 2022 in the category- Production – Mechanization – Primary packaging, thanks to the horizontal flow wrap machine DELTA, equipped with a configuration for paper materials.

This collaboration has impacted biscuits areas of French supermarkets, as it'll allow minimizing the quantity of plastic used to pack biscuits, reducing it by 1500 tons.

It also represents a further step forward within the framework of ecological transition promoted by the French regulation named AGEC (Anti-waste law for a circular economy).

This collaboration is characterized by two main innovations:

IMA Ilapak developed a specific configuration for the DELTA range of horizontal flow wrapping machines equipped with Long Dwell sealing technology. As a result of this setup, the machine can manage sustainable and recyclable materials as paper-based films, which are analyzed, tested, and validated by IMA Open Lab.

Thanks to its patented folding box designed to handle sustainable materials, IMA Ilapak progresses year after year to approach the speeds achieved by non-recyclable films, unfortunately still used too often.

Maison Le Goff decided to replace plastic bags and trays for its cookies and salty biscuits with new packaging, which is 75% made of paper, as well as with paper trays ready to be served: everything recyclable as paper. Despite these new sustainable bags, biscuits maintain the same shelf-life obtained with plastic ones.
