Krones successfully completes acquisition of Netstal

The integration of the Swiss company is a significant strategic milestone, as Krones now has all the necessary technologies for circular PET solutions

FoodTechBiz Desk

Krones has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares of the Swiss company Netstal, with full approval from the regulatory bodies. Netstal is a major supplier of technologies in the field of blowing, especially in the production of PET preforms and caps – in the 2023 financial year, the company generated revenues of more than €200 million with around 560 employees.

The acquisition of Netstal is a significant strategic milestone, as Krones now has all the necessary technologies for circular PET solutions, from preform injection moulding to the production of PET bottles, and from filling and packaging systems to the recycling of used bottles. It is also the possibility of delivering new blowing solutions to new segments, such as the medical and pharmaceutical markets.

Netstal will continue to have the responsibility of managing its business, while benefiting from the international positioning and economies of scale of the Krones Group. This and other measures will help to improve Netstal's profitability and bring it up to the level of the Krones Group in the medium term.
