Mondelēz China announced the official launch of its expanded Research & Development (R&D) facility within the Suzhou Technical Center, marking a significant milestone in the company's commitment to driving innovation and product excellence in the Chinese market.
The new R&D facility represents a strategic shift from single-category to multicategory product development, enabling Mondelēz China to accelerate innovation across a broader range of product lines. The facility is equipped with a dedicated cake pilot production line and newly established application laboratories for cake & pastry as well as gum & candy, two key categories driving growth and consumer demand in China.
Spanning three floors, the expanded space also features a culinary hub designed to foster collaboration and co-creation with customers and partners, supporting the development of products tailored to local tastes and preferences.
In a first for the region, the facility also houses the first electric oven in Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, underscoring Mondelēz’s commitment to investing in advanced food technologies and sustainable manufacturing practices.
The enhanced facility reinforces Mondelēz China’s position as a leading player in the snacking industry and highlights the company’s dedication to investing in local talent, technology, and long-term market growth.
