Mount Everest Breweries expands into Andhra Pradesh with Stok and Lemount

FoodTechBiz Desk

Mount Everest Breweries (MEBL), one of India’s fastest-growing breweries and a part of the Associated Kedia Group, has announced its entry into Andhra Pradesh, marking its presence in the company’s 14th operational market. The expansion forms part of MEBL’s larger growth strategy to establish operations across 20 states by the end of FY26, while advancing its long-term vision of securing a 10 per cent share of the Indian beer market by 2029.

Andhra Pradesh represents one of the most promising beer markets in Southern India, driven by a sizeable and growing consumer base. Regulatory changes introduced in 2024, including the Andhra Pradesh government’s notification of a new liquor policy and the planned rollout of 3,736 retail outlets across the state, have further accelerated industry growth, creating a significant opportunity for MEBL’s entry into the market. The company’s recent brewery acquisition in Karnataka further strengthens its ability to serve the region with enhanced supply chain efficiency and product freshness.

Stok, MEBL’s flagship premium beer, embodies the lifestyle philosophy of #LiveTheChill, encouraging relaxed, authentic, and experiential social drinking. The brand is ideally suited for Andhra Pradesh’s dynamic consumer base, particularly younger audiences in urban and semi-urban areas.

As part of its launch in the state, MEBL will introduce its premium beer brands, Stok and Lemount. Premiumisation is a core focus area, with Stok positioned as a key offering to appeal to urban and semi-urban youth who seek quality and modern drinking experiences.

Commenting on the expansion, Vedant Kedia, Whole Time Director, Mount Everest Breweries, said, “Andhra Pradesh is a natural and strategic step in our journey to build a strong Southern India presence. With our Mysore brewery providing a robust supply chain backbone, we are well-positioned to deliver fresh, high-quality products. We are excited to bring Stok and Lemount to consumers in the state and connect with the evolving preferences of modern Indian beer drinkers.”

MEBL’s products will be available across both retail outlets and the HoReCa (hotels, restaurants, and cafes) segment, ensuring broad accessibility. The company will focus on building strong brand visibility, impactful marketing initiatives, and consistent availability of freshly crafted beer to drive rapid and effective distribution across the state.

This expansion into Andhra Pradesh aligns with MEBL’s broader vision of creating brands that resonate with the modern Indian beer consumer across every significant state market. With the Mysore brewery supporting efficient operations in South India, Andhra Pradesh becomes a vital pillar alongside existing markets, advancing the company’s goal of building a truly pan-India beer company.
