NHB and APEDA sign MoU to boost global promotion of Indian horticultural products

In a major step towards strengthening India’s position in global horticulture trade, the National Horticulture Board (NHB) and the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote Indian horticultural produce in international markets.

The MoU signing took place in the esteemed presence of Priya Ranjan, Joint Secretary (Horticulture), Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) and Managing Director, NHB, and Abhishek Dev, Chairman, APEDA.

The agreement was formally signed by:

  • Dr. Vijay Kumar Doharey, Deputy Managing Director, NHB

  • Dr. Sudhanshu, Secretary, APEDA

Key objectives of the MoU include:

  • Enhancing the export competitiveness of Indian horticultural products

  • Facilitating the exchange of best practices, technical expertise, and strategic resources

  • Developing global markets through coordinated efforts in branding, promotion, and trade facilitation

This strategic collaboration is set to unlock new opportunities for Indian farmers and exporters, paving the way for India to emerge as a global leader in agri and horticultural exports.

The MoU is expected to bring tangible benefits through joint capacity building, market intelligence sharing, and unified participation in global trade events and expos.
