NIFTEM-Kundli signs MoU with Almond Board of California

The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Kundli (NIFTEM-K) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Almond Board of California (ABC), USA – India Liaison Office to foster collaborative research and innovation in almond utilization.

The MoU was formally signed at the NIFTEM-K campus by Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director, NIFTEM-K, and Sudarshan Mazumdar, Director – India, South Korea & Japan, Almond Board of California.

This strategic partnership is designed to leverage global expertise and cutting-edge technology to explore novel approaches for enhancing the value of almonds in food processing. Founded in 1950, the Almond Board of California is a global leader in almond production, sustainability, nutrition research, and food safety, making it an ideal collaborator for NIFTEM-K’s research-driven agenda.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Komal Chauhan, Dean, Research & Outreach; Dr. Vimal Pant, CEO, NTIBIF; Dr. Bhim Pratap Singh, HoD, AES; Dr. Vinkel Arora, Associate Dean, Research & Outreach; Mr. Saptarshi Lahiri, Manager, Chase Advisors; and Dr. Sari, Assistant Professor, CRU.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Oberoi highlighted the collaboration’s potential to drive joint research initiatives, create value-added almond applications, and strengthen academic-industry partnerships in India’s growing food sector.

“This MoU opens new opportunities for innovation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building,” said Dr. Oberoi.
