APEDA showcases India’s agri-food excellence at World Food India 2025

Introduces BHARATI initiative to empower export-ready startups

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) made a commanding presence at World Food India 2025, hosting over 120 exhibitors and presenting India’s vibrant agri-food diversity — from Basmati rice, millets, fruits, vegetables, GI-tagged products, to organic and value-added foods.

The APEDA Pavilion emerged as a global hub for trade connect and innovation, drawing strong interest from international buyers, policymakers, and industry leaders.

Key Highlights

  • Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM) with participation from 400+ international buyers from over 50 countries

  • Live wet sampling of authentic Indian cuisines showcasing culinary versatility

  • Launch of the BHARATI Initiative aimed at accelerating innovation and export-led growth in the agri-food startup ecosystem

Introducing BHARATI — Charting the next export wave

At the event, APEDA unveiled BHARATI – Bharat’s Hub for Agritech, Resilience, Advancement & Incubation for Export Innovation, a pioneering initiative aligned with India’s ‘Farm to Foreign’ vision.

BHARATI is designed to:

  • Foster innovation in high-value and niche agri-food products

  • Accelerate export-ready startups with global market potential

  • Enable technology-led trade solutions across supply chains

  • Address SPS risks and compliance challenges for smoother market access

With a vision to position Indian agri-food products as symbols of quality, sustainability and global excellence, BHARATI seeks to propel exports towards the USD 50 billion milestone by 2030.
