India's food and beverage industry is entering a new phase of growth driven by rising consumer demand for healthier products, value-added foods, sustainable packaging and advanced manufacturing technologies. Supported by favourable policy initiatives, increasing investments, expanding exports and rapid technological advancements, India's food processing industry is projected to become a US$600 billion opportunity by 2030. Against this backdrop, Informa Markets in India will host the 20th edition of Fi India alongside the 8th edition of ProPak India from 26–28 August 2026 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

India's food processing sector continues to strengthen its contribution to manufacturing and exports, supported by government initiatives such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme that are driving domestic manufacturing capacity and value addition. At the same time, growing demand for functional nutrition, clean-label products, convenience foods and environmentally responsible packaging is encouraging businesses to rethink every stage of product development and manufacturing.

Commenting on the evolving landscape of the food ingredients, processing and packaging industries, Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, said, "India's food manufacturing industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation, driven by changing consumer preferences, technological advancements and a growing emphasis on sustainability. India's food technology market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 6.9% through 2032, underscoring the industry's continued investment in digitalisation, automation and next-generation manufacturing. At the same time, evolving regulatory frameworks, including the transition to the CPCB's Common EPR Portal, are accelerating the shift towards greater efficiency, traceability and circularity across the sector.

Against this backdrop, the co-location of Fi India and ProPak India provides a unique platform where ingredient suppliers, food manufacturers, processing technology providers, packaging innovators and solution partners can connect, exchange knowledge and build strategic partnerships.
