India has been announced as the 'Country of the Year' at BIOFACH 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for organic food, scheduled to take place in Nuremberg, Germany from 10th to 13th February 2026. This recognition underscores India’s growing stature as a trusted supplier of high-quality organic products to global markets.

The formal document announcing India as a Partner Country was signed today at Vanijya Bhawan, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Shri Rajesh Agrawal, Special Secretary, Department of Commerce, Government of India. The agreement was executed between Hilke Hartmann, Executive Director, BIOFACH, and Abhishek Dev, Chairman, APEDA.

This partnership sets the stage for India to showcase its organic food strength to the world at BIOFACH 2026, providing a platform to highlight India’s diverse organic basket, sustainable practices, and export potential.
