Mettler-Toledo to exhibit new product inspection technologies at IPACK-IMA show

FoodTechBiz Desk

Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection is to showcase several new product inspection technologies at the IPACK-IMA show from 3 to 6 May 2022, focusing on systems that deliver smart capabilities to manufacturers and packing companies in the food and non-food processing and packaging sectors.

Situated on stand A40 in Hall 7 at the Fiera Milano in Milan, Italy, the Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection booth will feature the first showing of the next-generation M34R metal detection system. Visitors will also see a preview of a brand new affordable x-ray inspection system that will be launched in Europe later this year. The list of technologies that will be on display at the booth includes:

Mettler-Toledo M34R PlusLine metal detection system, incorporating GC conveyor - launched September 2021, the M34R is part of a new family of modular smart, metal detection systems known as the M30 R-Series. Designed specifically for small and medium-sized manufacturers and co-packers, the metal detection systems are powered by new SENSE™ smart software. The software combined with advanced algorithms, makes it possible for the entry-level models to deliver high sensitivity to all metal contaminant types with minimal false rejects. The M34R PlusLine is especially tailored to “wet”, challenging and conductive applications, using advanced signal suppression technology to reduce false reject rates.

CX35 AdvancedLine

Mettler-Toledo AdvancedLine CX3570 Checkweigher/X-ray combination system - precision weighing, contaminant detection and quality control checks at line speeds of up to 500ppm; the CX3570 is a compact weighing and inspection system, able to accommodate packs up to 10kg in weight.

Mettler-Toledo Throat 200 Metal Detector with ATS - used for inspecting free falling products, the Throat 200 is designed for VFFS applications incorporating multiple ultra-high tuned frequencies with enhanced noise and vibration immunity, helping to maximize sensitivity and detection performance. Automatic Test System (ATS) undertakes a number of optimised metal detection tests (i.e., detecting ferrous, non-ferrous, stainless steel and aluminium), ensuring repeatability and centre-line performance.

As yet unannounced X-ray inspection system - this is a brand new affordable x-ray innovation, bringing the advantages of x-ray inspection to all production lines in Europe. Previously known as a high end solution this brand new solution makes x-ray inspection accessible for all food manufacturers and enables food safety by combining high detection sensitivity and enhanced detection capabilities, with advances in ease of operation, safety, maintenance and servicing.

“We’re excited to be getting back out there and meeting our customers again,” said Roberto Scanu, business area manager at Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection. “The IPACK-IMA event represents a great opportunity for visitors to see our latest inspection systems for the food and packaging sectors, including some truly unique and exciting breakthrough technologies. The market wants smart solutions to its challenges, and that’s what people will discover when they stop by our booth in Milan in May.”
