At the recently concluded ANUGA FoodTec India 2025, Safe Automations showcased its latest inspection and automation technologies, reaffirming its position as a trusted provider of advanced packaging, conveyor, robotics, and industrial automation solutions. In an exclusive interview, Asharaf A, Managing Director of Safe Automations, shared the company’s vision, growth strategy, and product innovations designed to meet India’s evolving manufacturing needs.

A decade of innovation and trusted partnerships

Founded in 2013, Safe Automation Group has quickly expanded as a preferred partner for turnkey packaging and automation solutions. “We are a trusted provider of advanced packaging, end-of-line conveyor, quality inspection, robotics, and industrial automation systems,” said Asharaf. “Our strength lies in delivering customized, efficient, and cost-effective systems that meet the unique needs of modern manufacturing.”

With ISO 9001:2015 certification and manufacturing facilities in Bangalore, Safe Automations has expanded across India and the Gulf region through strategically located sales and service offices. The company represents globally recognized brands such as Wipotec (Germany), CEIA (Italy), Bocedi (Italy), SIAT (Italy) and more, bringing world-class innovations to food, FMCG, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

“Our solutions are trusted by leading global brands including Nestlé, Mondelez, Unilever, Mars, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt, Danone, Lactalis, L’Oréal, Lupin, Cipla, Glenmark, Almarai, IFFCO, Alshaya, and Pladis,” Asharaf noted. “Since 2023, we have been the authorized partner for Wipotec GmbH across India and the Gulf, enhancing access to precision weighing and quality inspection technologies. At Safe Automations, we don’t just automate—we innovate with purpose.”

Comprehensive offerings for the food and beverage sector

Safe Automations delivers end-to-end packaging and inspection solutions tailored for the food and beverage industry, covering everything from primary packaging to end-of-line automation.

“Our core business areas include advanced packaging machinery, inspection and quality control systems, robotic automation, and track-and-trace solutions,” explained Asharaf. “We provide multihead weighers with vertical baggers and high-speed horizontal form-fill-seal machines for powders, granules, and solid products. For secondary and end-of-line packaging, our carton sealers, pallet wrappers, and shrink-packaging systems streamline logistics and extend shelf life.”

The company’s inspection portfolio includes checkweighers, metal detectors, and X-ray systems through partnerships with Wipotec and CEIA. Robotic palletizers, pick-and-place systems, and AGVs are fully integrated with PLC and electromechanical systems, ensuring seamless operations. “With a robust presence across India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider GCC region, we combine global technology with local expertise,” Asharaf added.

What sets Safe Automations apart

Asharaf emphasized the company’s unique approach. “Our differentiation lies not just in the technology we offer, but in how we integrate it into our clients’ operations. We deeply engage with customers to understand their unique challenges—whether it's food safety, compliance, or operational efficiency—and develop tailored solutions.”

The company’s turnkey project capabilities, from concept to installation and preventive maintenance, deliver a seamless customer experience. “Our 24/7 service support and lifecycle extension strategies ensure long-term reliability,” he noted.

Another key differentiator is customization. “We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all; instead, we adapt our solutions to fit client-specific requirements. Our commitment to innovation, responsiveness, and integration has made us a preferred partner in the industry.”

Global alliances empowering local innovation

Safe Automations’ collaborations with international technology leaders significantly enhance its value proposition.

“We have partnered with global names like Wipotec, CEIA, Omron Automation, SIAT, Comek, and IPS Packaging to bring advanced solutions to the Indian market,” said Asharaf. These alliances allow Safe Automations to deliver high-precision checkweighers, metal detectors, X-ray systems, and robotic automation systems that comply with international standards.

“By blending global innovation with local customization—such as adjustable taping heads for narrow boxes—we ensure our solutions are both advanced and relevant.”

ANUGA FoodTec India 2025: A strategic milestone

Speaking about the company’s presence at ANUGA FoodTec India, Asharaf shared, “Our participation is part of our strategic push to enhance visibility in the Indian market. This platform allows us to engage directly with industry stakeholders and demonstrate how our technologies address critical challenges in quality, safety, and operational efficiency.”

Safe Automations used the event to build relationships, understand evolving industry needs, and position itself as a future-ready partner for Indian manufacturers.

Technologies on display

“At ANUGA, we showcased advanced inspection systems from Wipotec and CEIA,” Asharaf stated. “These are crucial for Indian food manufacturers facing rising consumer expectations and stricter safety standards.”

Wipotec’s high-speed checkweighers and compact X-ray systems offer precision and space efficiency—vital for Indian production environments. CEIA’s metal detectors, featuring Multi-Spectrum Technology, perform reliably even in challenging product conditions such as high moisture or salt content.

“These technologies reduce recalls and improve efficiency, aligning perfectly with the Indian market’s demands.”

Target sectors and market potential

Asharaf sees immense opportunity in specific verticals. “We are particularly focused on packaged foods, dairy, confectionery, and ready-to-eat segments. As regulations tighten and consumers demand higher quality, companies are investing in inspection and automation.”

Beyond food, Safe Automations also targets pharmaceutical and FMCG sectors, where accuracy and compliance are equally vital.

“With a growing middle class and rising exports, India presents a promising landscape for advanced inspection solutions,” he said.

Challenges in the Indian market

Despite the potential, entering India comes with its own set of challenges. “Price sensitivity, fragmented industry structures, and limited awareness of advanced inspection technologies pose initial hurdles,” Asharaf admitted.

“Many manufacturers are still transitioning from basic systems. So education, trust-building, and localized service become critical to our success.” Safe Automations views these challenges as opportunities to innovate and collaborate.

Local partnerships: Key to growth

“We are actively exploring partnerships with Indian distributors, system integrators, and service providers,” said Asharaf. “While we bring global technologies, localized support and after-sales service are essential for long-term impact in India.”

Asharaf presented a bold yet focused vision. “We aim to establish Safe Automations as a trusted name in inspection and automation across India and beyond. Our goal is to expand our footprint, strengthen our partnerships, and broaden our portfolio.”

He added, “We want to be more than a supplier—we aspire to be a strategic partner, helping companies achieve compliance, operational excellence, and scalable growth.”

Concluding the conversation, Asharaf delivered a clear message for potential customers, “Choose Safe Automation for reliability, innovation, and partnership. We offer world-class technology with a deep understanding of local needs. Our commitment doesn’t end at delivery—we walk the journey with you, supporting your goals and building trust every step of the way.”

With a strong foundation, global alliances, and a clear roadmap, Safe Automations is poised to become a leading force in India’s rapidly evolving automation and inspection ecosystem!
