Arun Singhal, chief executive officer of the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) launched a portal for applying for the membership of the Scientific Committee (SC) & various Scientific Panels (SPs). The portal, called the “SPaCe – MAP” (Scientific Panel and Committee - Membership Application Portal) would be live from 5 September, 2022, coinciding with FSSAI’s foundation day.

Scientists/experts desirous for being considered for the membership of SC/SPs may apply on the dedicated application portal https://spacemap.fssai.gov.in/.The last date for submission of applications is 4 November, 2022. The SC and various SPs are constituted by FSSAI as per the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Both, these bodies have a term of three years. The SC and SPs were last constituted in January 2020. The reconstituted SC & SPs will work from January 2023 to December 2025.
