FoodTechBiz Desk

Roquette is proud to announce it successfully achieved International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS for its isosorbide, produced in Lestrem, France. With this certification, Roquette reaffirms its commitment to sustainable practices along the value chain for its plant-based ingredient POLYSORB isosorbide, available on the market for more than 10 years.

Roquette announced that it has earned the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS for POLYSORB isosorbide and the following product grades: POLYSORB PSA, POLYSORB LP, POLYSORB PA.

POLYSORB isosorbide is a pioneering product that offers a versatile and eco-friendly alternative to traditional materials. As a 100% plant-based monomer, it helps to enhance the performance and minimize the environmental impact of materials used in packaging, plasticizers, polycarbonates, polyurethanes, and paints and coatings.

With the ISCC PLUS certification, Roquette reaffirms to its customers that they are using a product that meets the highest standards of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS is a voluntary scheme that applies to the bioeconomy and circular economy for food, feed, chemicals, plastics, packaging, textiles, and renewable feedstock derived from a process using renewable energy sources.

“This ISCC PLUS certification is a real milestone for Roquette and reaffirms our pledge to put sustainable development at the heart of all our activities providing our partners with innovative plant-based ingredients that meet the highest standards of sustainability and exceed their expectations in terms of performance,” says Pascal Leroy, senior vice president Core Ingredients of Roquette.
