Amcor launches one-liter carbonated soft drink stock bottle made from 100% post consumer recycled material

Innovation in stock packaging options will enable brands to address laws requiring post-consumer recycled content and deliver speed to market

Amcor, a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, is launching a one-liter polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle for carbonated soft drink (CSD) use that is made from 100% post consumer recycled (PCR) content. This first-of-its-kind stock option will support customers as they strive to meet sustainability commitments and requirements.

As the industry leader in packaging innovation, Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP) is adding this one-liter CSD 100% PCR bottle to an expanding stock portfolio of responsible packaging made from recycled content.

“By offering a wide selection of readily available options, ARP enables brands at every stage of growth to have the opportunity to select packaging that’s truly responsible,”* says Krishna Valluripalli, ARP marketing director for Beverage. *“Adding a one-liter CSD stock portfolio in 100% PCR ensures that brands will benefit from increased speed to market while addressing the increased consumer demand and legislative requirements for post consumer recycled content.”

This one-liter stock option made from 100% PCR allows brand owners to address these regulations and the need for more responsible packaging in general.

In 2018 Amcor pledged to make all packaging recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025, and ARP currently has achieved 95% of this goal. Additionally, last year the company used more than 375 million pounds of recycled material, a packaging industry-leading amount.
