Florette swaps plastic bottles for cartons to re-launch vegetable soups

FoodTechBiz Desk

Florette relaunched its vegetable soups in Pure-Pak Sense cartons in April 2026, replacing PET plastic bottle packaging to reduce waste, increase visibility for retailers, and improve practicality for consumers.

“This new carton packaging allows us to enhance the visibility of the range in stores thanks to a larger on‑pack display area,” says Lionel Manivet, Responsible Innovation, Florette France. “We work every day to minimize waste, so we have opted for the foldable Sense cartons, which offer practical advantages while helping to reduce food waste.”

The Florette brand is well known across Europe for its fresh vegetables sourced from its cooperative of member farmers.

The soups relaunch is nationwide across France in 1‑liter Pure‑Pak Sense cartons, in five varieties: Garden Vegetables Soup, Six Vegetables Soup (25% reduced salt), Red Kuri Squash & Emmental Soup, Green Vegetable Soup, and Pumpkin & Carrot Soup.

Optimizing packaging, preserving quality

For Florette, the new launch and switch to cartons are part of its commitment to seeking alternatives to plastic and achieving the goals set out in its Climate Plan, including a 35% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2035 compared to 2019.

“Our teams are always looking for ways to improve packaging and make it more sustainable, while preserving the freshness of our fruits and vegetables,” adds Lionel Manivet. “Square packaging is easier to stack for transport and storage, so there’s less wasted space. That brings cost and fuel savings for our supply chain. Plus, the carton helps protect our vegetables from light, so product quality is protected.”

With this relaunch Florette is showing how carton packaging can support both product presentation and operation efficiency throughout the supply chain. The move also reflects the growing interest in packaging solutions that balance functionality, brand visibility, and product quality protection.
