St. Ewe Eggs, the British multi-award-winning free-range egg producer, launched [EG1.1]a new range of liquid products in July 2026 to meet the demands of modern professional kitchens. The practical, chef-ready three-product line-up was introduced to the foodservice trade by the Cornwall-based egg pioneer in 1kg Pure-Pak Classic cartons.
The launch comes from Europe’s first B Corp‑certified egg packer, with products developed in close cooperation with chefs and industry professionals. St. Ewe matches its premium brand status in the UK with a range that helps kitchens improve efficiency and maintain consistency without compromising on taste, provenance, or welfare standards.
Industry‑changing impact on UK shelves
Following challenges with pulp supply during COVID, St. Ewe introduced cardboard egg boxes to the retail market, reflecting the company's commitment to finding practical and innovative packaging solutions. The move was inspired by egg boxes designed for the growing home‑delivery sector by box packaging firm Agile Box Limited.
Agile Box creates and delivers corrugated cardboard solutions designed for convenience, recycling and robustness for fragile products. Partnering with St. Ewe, Agile Box researched suppliers worldwide to identify the right partners.
When it came to launching into fresh liquid product, it was Elopak that Agile Box introduced St Ewe to‑ with the Pure‑Pak carton considered the most appropriate packaging solution. Danny Foyster from Agile Box notes, “Elopak took a big‑picture approach, prioritizing customer needs over manufacturing convenience.”
The three new St. Ewe liquid eggs include whole, whites, and yolks. “There is a lack of premium, branded liquid egg products in the UK food service market,” adds Nikki Owen from St. Ewe Eggs. “To get the products exactly right, we have been working with chefs from all over the country. They are the experts, and we often collaborate with them to get the consistency and quality they need to meet the demands of busy professional kitchens.
“In the ready‑to‑pour cartons, the range removes the mess and time involved in cracking and separating eggs, streamlining prep, improving stock control and helping kitchens manage product use more efficiently,” adds Nikki.
The Pure-Pak carton was an essential part of the new offering, providing an extended refrigerated shelf life compared with shell eggs. The cartons also feature a tethered cap, bringing added convenience and hygiene to commercial food preparation areas.Nikki Owen , St. Ewe
Cartons bring the next chapter in the St. Ewe story
For over 50 years, St. Ewe's story has been one of care, innovation, and a commitment to nurturing both people and hens. Established in 1967 by Richard and Christine Tonks, the company is now led by their daughter, Bex Tonks, who is diversifying with a focus on welfare and quality.
“Launching our new free‑range Liquid Egg range marks the next exciting chapter in our story. We have taken the same high‑quality free‑range eggs our customers know and love and developed them into a format that works perfectly for professional kitchens,” adds Bex Tonks, CEO, Farmer, and Founder of St. Ewe Eggs.
"Quality and convenience are at the heart of our brand, alongside our focus on responsible business practices, and the move to Pure‑Pak cartons offers chefs a conscious packaging choice without compromising product performance. ”
“The carton delivers several important benefits for our business and our food service customers. Pure‑Pak cartons are made mainly from paperboard, a renewable material, and are recyclable where suitable collection and recycling systems are in place. The carton also provides product protection, ease of use, and waste reduction since the liquid egg format prevents breakages. This will support our long‑term B Corp commitment as we continue to grow our liquid egg category.
“Working with Elopak, we benefited from expertise and cooperation, helping to make our launch smooth and effective,” concludes Bex Tonks.
