FoodTechBiz Desk

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has approved a total of 1,601 projects under the umbrella scheme Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY) as of 30 June 2025. A cumulative ₹6,411.61 crore has been disbursed as grant-in-aid towards the successful implementation of these projects across the country.

PMKSY, a central sector umbrella scheme, aims to modernize and strengthen the food processing value chain through its various component schemes. The approved projects span multiple segments of the food processing industry and are expected to generate employment, reduce agri-wastage, and boost farmer incomes by enhancing market access and infrastructure.

This update was provided by the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Shri Ravneet Singh, in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on 7 August 2025.

The Ministry continues to promote sustainable and inclusive growth in the sector by supporting infrastructure development, value addition, and entrepreneurship through initiatives under PMKSY.
