Asia Shipping, a Brazilian multinational and the largest logistics integrator in Latin America, has just been awarded the Compliance Maturity Seal – Gold Level, granted by BeCompliance, a consultancy specialized in compliance solutions, data privacy, and risk management.
The recognition is aimed at organizations that achieve excellence in implementing integrity, ethics, and transparency practices within their structure.
During the evaluation process, Asia Shipping reached the highest level of the seal due to differentiating factors such as the top management’s commitment to driving initiatives, a solid framework of policies and code of ethics, recurring training for employees and partners, structured risk management, and an effective and transparent whistleblower channel.
According to Thayane Santiago, lawyer and compliance and risk management specialist at Asia Shipping, the result reflects the company’s engagement in continuously strengthening its governance initiatives.
"Receiving the Gold Seal demonstrates that our compliance practices are not only implemented but embedded in our organizational culture. For us, ethics and integrity are fundamental pillars for sustaining solid growth and building trust with clients, partners, and society," she affirms.
A Benchmark for the Foreign Trade Sector
The Compliance Maturity Seal is issued by BeCompliance, a company certified under the international ISO 27001 and 27701 standards and recognized for developing methodologies aligned with the recommendations of Brazil’s Office of the Comptroller General (CGU).
To achieve the Gold Level, as Asia Shipping did, the evaluation follows a rigorous process, considering up to 223 indicators distributed across 10 compliance pillars, including policies, training, risk management, whistleblower channels, and transparency. Organizations that exceed 95% in these assessments demonstrate exemplary commitment to integrity, becoming benchmarks in their sectors.
With the new seal, Asia Shipping reinforces its position as one of the most solid companies in the logistics sector, consolidating its compliance program as a competitive differentiator aligned with global best practices in ethics and governance.
Continuous Evolution: Results and New Achievements
The recognition comes just months after the publication of the company’s 2024 Integrity Report, released in March, which highlighted achievements such as the Clean Company Certification and the handling of over 1,480 requests through the compliance channel. The report also established strategic goals for 2025, including strengthening training, expanding the culture of integrity, and enhancing whistleblower channels – initiatives that have already begun to be implemented this year.
Additionally, in June, the company obtained the international ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, confirming the compliance of its information security management system. The certification was granted by DNV, accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service), ensuring the company has structured processes to protect sensitive client and partner data in line with global best practices in governance, compliance, and privacy.
For Alexandre Pimenta, CEO of Asia Shipping, these recent achievements confirm the consistency of the company’s strategy.
"We are building a company that grows with solidity, responsibility, and a forward-looking vision. Receiving the Gold Compliance Maturity Seal and the ISO 27001 certification shows that we continue to advance in governance, ethics, and information security. These accomplishments strengthen our clients’ and partners’ confidence that they can rely on Asia Shipping to meet the global challenges of foreign trade," the executive concludes.
