Himachal Pradesh’s Sinduri pomegranates have reached international markets, with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) facilitating the export of 1.3 metric tonnes (MT) of the fruit from Kullu to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The consignment, exported by Amama Exports on 21 October 2026, comprises 650 boxes weighing 2 kg each. The initiative connects local farmers and the Bhuntar Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) with overseas markets, creating opportunities to expand the reach of regionally grown produce.

The export is expected to help participating farmers achieve approximately 50% higher price realisation compared with conventional domestic market rates. This improved earning potential could support better returns for farmers while encouraging greater participation in export-oriented agricultural supply chains.

The shipment marks a step towards strengthening market access for Himachal Pradesh’s horticultural produce and connecting local farming communities with international buyers. Through export facilitation, initiatives such as this can help diversify market opportunities and improve the commercial prospects of farmers and FPOs.
