MoFPI invites proposals for cold chain projects under PMKSY scheme

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, has announced an invitation for proposals from eligible entities across the country for the establishment of Cold Chain projects under the Scheme for Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure, a key component of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY).

Through an Expression of Interest (EoI) dated May 27, 2025, the Ministry is encouraging participation from prospective entrepreneurs to strengthen the country’s cold chain infrastructure and reduce post-harvest losses, thereby enhancing the shelf life and value of perishable produce.

In response to stakeholder requests, the last date for submission of online applications through the SAMPADA Portal has been extended to 5:00 PM on August 8, 2025. Interested applicants can submit their proposals via the official portal: https://www.sampada-mofpi.gov.in.

The revised operational guidelines, issued on May 22, 2025, outline detailed provisions for the setting up of Cold Chain projects and are available on the Ministry’s website at www.mofpi.gov.in.

This initiative forms a vital part of the Government’s commitment to modernizing India’s food processing infrastructure and empowering agri-entrepreneurs, thereby supporting income generation for farmers and reducing wastage in the supply chain.
