Single Malt Amateur Club India (SMAC), a leading platform for whisky enthusiasts, in collaboration with Godawan Artisanal Single Malt from Diageo India and Estuary Premium Blending Water, is thrilled to announce "Whisky Wanderlust," a curated tour of a journey through the picturesque landscapes of Scotland highlighting some of the best whisky producing distilleries of the region. Starting on 7 August, SMAC will lead a group of avid whisky enthusiasts on an exploration of Scotland's famed whisky provinces – covering Speyside, Highlands, Islay, and Campbelltown.

The club members will visit a total of 23 distilleries ranging from large establishments such as Glenfiddich, Lagavulin, and Caol Ila to boutique family-owned ones such as Glenfarclas and Springbank. Participants will have the opportunity to witness the whisky-making process first-hand, indulge in warehouse tastings, and create unforgettable memories. Godawan, an award-winning artisanal Single Malt from Rajasthan, India, planning to launch in the UK soon, has partnered with the club in this initiative to grow whisky appreciation among the whisky enthusiast community. Estuary premium blending water has been an active proponent of curated experiences and has supported numerous whisky competitions across the globe.

Hemanth Rao, founder, SMAC says, "We are delighted to embark on this exciting journey with our brand partners Godawan Single Malt and Estuary Water. This tour not only showcases a diverse range of whisky styles but also unveils the complex process behind its production. Whisky appreciation is a journey with discipline and such tours will engage the enthusiasts with science and sentiment – leading to a lifelong tryst with the spirit for many. We have seen similar success during last year's whisky trail – Singapore Sling, which marked the club's first international whisky tour. Such immersive journeys pave the way for an exciting future and nurture India’s whisky aficionados.

"As interest in artisanal craft grows, whisky enthusiasts from India will embark on a remarkable journey through Scotland, immersing themselves in the rich heritage and craftsmanship that Scotch whisky represents. This collaboration between Godawan Single Malt and SMAC highlights our shared commitment to encouraging an appreciation for quality whiskies and supporting the growing whisky community in India. We believe this tour will ignite a lifelong passion for exceptional whisky experiences," says Vikram Damodaran, chief innovation officer, of Diageo India.

"We are thrilled to be a part of this extraordinary whisky tour organized by SMAC. Estuary Water is delighted to enhance the whisky enthusiasts' experience with its distinguished products formulated to blend with the complexity of single malts and whiskies – giving the most authentic and consistent taste of the spirit. Together, we will create an unforgettable journey that showcases the true essence and flavors of Scotch whisky," says Devashish Kamdar, managing director & founder, of Estuary Blending Water.

India's status as the world's largest consumer of whisky, coupled with its rich history and diverse preferences, sets the stage for a vibrant whisky culture. With the increasing awareness and exploration by consumers, India's whisky journey holds great promise. Since its establishment in 2011, SMAC continues to foster this passion through experiences like "Whisky Wanderlust, marking a significant milestone in its journey. Having engaged over 6000 registered members in their club globally, SMAC serves as a trusted space for amateurs, professionals, and connoisseurs to share their love and knowledge of whisky.
