MoFPI with the support of Knowledge Chamber of Commerce & Industry organizes ‘Regional Industry Meet’ ahead of, ‘World Food India 2024’

Ministry of Food Processing Industry (MoFPI – Govt. Of India) with support of Knowledge Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized Regional Industry Meet at one of the five-star hotels in suburbs. This regional meet was planned by MoFPI to address all the stakeholders, manufacturers, owners from food processing industry and its allied sectors in Maharashtra.  The objective of this meet was to create awareness and promote upcoming mega food event in Delhi. ‘World Food India 2024’, organized by Govt. of India in the month of September 2024 at Pragati Maiden, New Delhi.

The occasion was inaugurated by Sanoj Kumar Jha, IAS, Additional Secretary – Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) Govt. Of India, with the presence of Dr. Mangesh Gondavale, IAS, Managing Director, Maharashtra Agro Industries Development Corporation (MAIDC), Dr Amit Joshi, Director, Knowledge Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dr and government dignitaries from Invest India, PMFME, State Associations like MACCIA, AIEC, FSNM, FCBM along with invited guests and delegates from regional Food Processing and Allied sectors. Approx 50+ delegates from Maharashtra Food Processing Industry were invited for this meet to gather inputs, improve ease of doing business and develop the sector as a whole and discuss about upcoming mega food event in Delhi. Apart from one-to-one meet, MoFPI officials have also highlighted about various subsidies and incentives given by the government for food processing and allied sectors under PMFME scheme.

Sanoj Kumar Jha, IAS, Additional Secretary – Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) Govt. Of India said, "We are the fastest growing major economy and 5th largest in the world. This regional business meet was one of the key outreach activities by MoFPI, towards provincial investors, manufacturers, producers, food processors, policy makers and other relevant organizations. It was held to boost investment sentiments of regional establishments engaged in the Food Processing & Allied Sectors and even promote ‘World Food India 2024’, forthcoming in the month of September, to showcase India as, ‘Food basket of the world’ and foster collaboration within global food processing industry with focus on RTE / RTC, organic produce, indigenous processed food and similar."

Dr. Mangesh Gondavale, IAS, Managing Director, Maharashtra Agro Industries Development Corporation (MAIDC) said, "We at MAIDC always work to support agriculture and agro-based industries in Maharashtra. Our goal is to empower farming community by increasing agriculture productivity and provide high quality fertilizers, farm equipment’s, animal feeds, etc at affordable rates. With help of central government, we continuously work hands on to empower budding entrepreneurs seeking assistance under different government schemes and even assists them in project preparation and area selection. ‘World Food India’ is one of the best initiatives by central government to empower food processing industries and go global."

Dr  Kishore Navandar, Chairman Hospitality, Knowledge Chamber of Commerce and CMD, Blue Billion Group said, "Unlike WFI 2023 we hope to make 3rd edition of WFI 2024, one of the biggest congregations of global investors and business leaders of major international and domestic Agro-Food processing companies, government departments and dignitaries. India has huge consumer base of 1.4 billion people with increasing demand of processed food, an inclusive and efficient agri-food ecosystem make India a prominent hub for world players."

Dr Amit Joshi, Director, Knowledge Chamber of Commerce & Industry said, "Indian lifestyle and aspirations are changing day by day and due to rapid urbanization more and more nuclear families are demanding for functional foods and nutraceuticals. Government is playing a vital role to promote and motivate being self-reliant by ease of doing business and connecting Indian manufacturers and consumers with the world via, ‘World Food India’ initiative. Regional Industry Meet like this should be a continuous process in order to spread awareness and create more startups towards progressive India."
