Italian packaging machinery specialist PFM Group reaffirmed its commitment to high-quality, reliable packaging solutions at ProPak Asia 2025, held from 11 to 14 June at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre. The company, known globally for its advanced horizontal and vertical packaging solutions, showcased its robust product portfolio while emphasizing its continuous pursuit of innovation.

In an exclusive interaction during the show, Dino Cavedon, Area Sales Manager, PFM Group, shared insights into the company's offerings, market trends, and growth plans for Southeast Asia.

A legacy of Italian engineering

Founded in Italy, PFM Group has established itself as a global leader in packaging machinery, with expertise spanning both horizontal and vertical packaging technologies. At ProPak Asia, the company showcased its proven product range, emphasizing performance, durability, and continuous improvement rather than launching new models.

“Our core development is providing complete packaging solutions,” explained Cavedon. “We focus on both horizontal packaging—through our partner—and vertical packaging. We also provide integrated slicing and packaging solutions for products like bread and buns.”

Despite not introducing new products at the show, Cavedon emphasized that innovation remains at the heart of PFM’s strategy. “We are always enhancing our packaging solutions. Even if there's no specific new launch at ProPak this year, we focus on constantly improving the performance and quality of what we offer.”

What sets PFM apart?

With increasing competition in the packaging industry, what distinguishes PFM from others? According to Cavedon, the answer lies in uncompromised quality and customer-centric development. “Every company claims their product is the best,” he remarked. “But for us, we don’t rely on slogans. We let our machines, our results, and our reputation speak. Customers can literally touch and feel the quality.”

PFM prioritizes technical excellence and problem-solving, aiming not to overwhelm customers with features but to offer real solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.

A future-forward approach to R&D

Staying ahead of market trends is vital in a rapidly evolving industry. PFM invests heavily in research and development—an estimated 5% of its annual revenue, according to Cavedon.

“Our mission is not to create problems for our customers, but to solve them,” he noted. “That’s why we continuously invest in R&D to make our systems smarter, faster, and more adaptable.”

Southeast Asia: A strategic hub

As part of its global expansion strategy, PFM has firmly planted roots in Southeast Asia, a region with growing demand for advanced packaging solutions. The company operates a regional headquarters in Bangkok, enabling it to deliver on-the-ground support and faster service response.

“Southeast Asia is extremely important for our group,” said Cavedon. “By having PFM Asia Pacific based here in Bangkok, we can support our customers much more effectively—locally, not just from Italy.”

This regional presence also helps the company stay closely aligned with market demands in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and other emerging economies in the region.

ProPak Asia: A benchmark of professionalism

Reflecting on his experience at ProPak Asia, Cavedon praised the event’s professionalism and regional relevance. “This is my second time attending ProPak Asia, and I can honestly say it’s among the best in terms of quality and professionalism,” he said. “It’s especially valuable for reaching customers in Thailand and the broader Southeast Asian market.”

A message to potential customers

Wrapping up, Cavedon extended a clear and confident message to businesses considering PFM for their packaging needs. “With PFM, you get more than a machine—you get a long-term solution. You can see and feel the quality, and most importantly, rely on our systems to solve real problems on your production line,” he said. “We are one of the largest and most future-focused companies in packaging solutions worldwide.”

As the packaging industry continues to innovate at speed, PFM Group stands out with its Italian craftsmanship, customer commitment, and regional engagement, making it a key player not just in Europe, but across the dynamic Southeast Asian market.
