SIG and Seoul Dairy Cooperative have won the “Best CSR/Sustainability Initiative” category at the World Dairy Innovation Awards 2026 for Seoul Dairy White Milk in SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier – the world’s first full barrier aseptic carton packaging material without an aluminum layer.
Presented at the Global Dairy Congress, the World Dairy Innovation Awards recognizes the companies, products and technologies shaping the future of the global dairy industry. This recognition highlights the growing importance of material innovation in helping dairy producers meet consumer expectations for high-quality, safe, and sustainable products.
In South Korea, Seoul Dairy became the first company to launch products in SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier, bringing this aluminum-layer free full barrier aseptic carton packaging to Korean consumers through its white milk range. It was the first aseptic carton recognized as recyclable under Korean regulations. The launch marked an important milestone for the Korean dairy industry, showing how collaboration between a leading dairy producer and a packaging solutions provider can bring practical sustainability innovation to market.
Moon Jin-Seop, President at Seoul Dairy Cooperative, “At Seoul Dairy, our priority has always been to deliver trusted, high-quality dairy products that consumers can feel confident about. As the first company in Korea to bring shelf-stable milk to market in an aseptic carton pack without an aluminum layer and with full barrier protection, we are pleased to see this initiative recognized internationally.”
“We are honored to see SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier recognized by the global dairy community”, added Hans Cho, Head of Market South Korea at SIG. “This award demonstrates that sustainable packaging innovation has an important role to play in helping dairy producers deliver trusted, high-quality products while reducing the environmental impact of packaging. Together with Seoul Dairy, we are proud to bring this innovation to Korea and show how collaboration can help move the industry forward.”
