In-house R&D for better results
To stay ahead of the competition, conducting R&D is a step in the right direction. According to Maind, whenever a new line is being offered to customers, it involves intensive in-house research by their in-house R&D team. Trials of products such as vegan milk and beverages are conducted by the team for providing efficient processing solutions to customers. Maind added, “When clients need to do trials on their products, we offer them our R&D center on a day-to-day basis.”
The pandemic aftermath
The COVID pandemic disrupted businesses worldwide due to a shortage of labor, and resources, and the loss of jobs. Sharing his experience during the period, Maind said, “During the pandemic, we were fortunate that we are working in the food industry. We did experience some jerks but for the past year, companies are getting good business and so are we.”
Sharing his learnings from the global pandemic, he said that companies should make efforts to work online as well as offline and indulge in online business promotions. “It has led to an improvement in marketing styles as well as selling skills,” he added.
The year 2023 has been declared the “International Year of Millets” by the Indian government to make it a people’s movement so that Indian millet, recipes, and value-added products are accepted worldwide. Maind informed us that GOMA is proudly contributing to this cause for the past two years. The company is working on two projects currently, one on oat milk and the other wholly dedicated to millet for producing solid products.
Future plans and vision
Maind said that going forward, GOMA is targeting the food sector which accounts for 60% of their turnover. The company is also expanding its pharmaceutical and chemical business. He added, “We have already started with the manufacturing strength expansion.” Functioning in the industry for the last 40 years, he believes that the most important thing that GOMA offers to its customers is trust. GOMA provides technology and end-to-end solutions from concept to commissioning.
