IFFA remains the premier global event for the meat industry, and ULMA Packaging is gearing up to make a strong impression with a robust showcase of innovative packaging solutions and applications—shaped by decades of hands-on experience in the sector.
Today’s market demands automated, sustainable, and hygienic packaging systems that preserve product quality and integrity. As a recognized industry leader, ULMA Packaging is committed to delivering long shelf-life solutions that ensure food safety while maximizing efficiency. Its automatic machines and production lines are equipped with advanced changeover and adjustment systems to achieve optimal OEE performance.
At ULMA's 1,000-square-meter exhibit space, visitors will experience cutting-edge packaging lines and high-efficiency equipment, all designed to meet the meat industry’s strictest hygiene standards.
Automation of complete lines
From primary and secondary packaging to palletizing, ULMA will present fully integrated lines that reflect its dedication to automation and operational excellence. These systems are built for real-world production environments—ready to be deployed thanks to Industry 4.0 technologies. With sustainability and innovation at the core, its solutions help customers streamline production, cut operational costs, and improve food safety to meet ever-evolving market expectations.
Introducing the New TFX High-Performance Thermoformer Series
ULMA will present the new TFX thermoforming machine range with a hygienic design that stands out for its high performance and operational availability, producing high quality packaging with sustainable materials. Advanced technologies have been incorporated to optimise the packaging process, such as the movement synchronisation that improves productivity by up to 10%, or the new vacuum system design that reduces the cycle time by up to 20%, achieving a more agile and efficient production.
New Flow Pack wrapper FM 400
Also debuting at IFFA 2025 is the FM 400, ULMA's latest Flow Pack machine tailored for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) in fresh products. Its Long-Dwell sealing head delivers airtight seals at speeds up to 150 ppm, preserving product freshness and extending shelf life. With a stainless steel design, suitable for water and chemical washdown, and components with a minimum IP66 protection rating, it ensures maximum durability and safety in demanding environments. The FM 400 combines speed, hygiene and efficiency, optimizing productivity and reducing operating costs.
Expanding Hygienic Equipment Portfolio
As part of its ongoing commitment to hygiene and food safety, ULMA will be showcasing a wide selection of its Flow Pack hygiene equipment. Like its TFS thermoformers, TSA traysealers and VTC vertical form fill and seal machines, these machines are built to withstand intensive washing processes, meeting the highest hygiene standards in the meat industry.
High-Performance Tray Sealing Lines
Several complete thermo-sealing lines will be showcased, including automatic loading solutions for ground meat, hamburgers, and sliced meat products, in both MAP and SKIN formats. These lines stand out for their speed and versatility, allowing the sealing of plastic or cardboard trays with quick and easy changeovers to accommodate different products.
A flexible TSA 875s configuration of high speed skin, up to 13 cycles per minute, for LEAFSKIN application of flat board trays, and R-Skin technology for plastic trays will be demonstrated. Thanks to the R-Skin technology, it is possible to achieve a reduction of up to 50 % in the thickness of the tray. Also, ULMA will show the CUT-ON TRAY system, which optimizes the cutting process and reduces the use of film and plastic.
Vertical Packaging Line for Fresh and Frozen Products
The VTC 840 is a vertical packaging line for fresh and frozen products that features TightBag technology, which reduces the amount of air inside the package without perforating it, preventing contamination and allowing the bag size to be adjusted to the product. This results in logistical savings and less waste generation. It also includes the SealFlex sealing system, compatible with various materials such as paper, which reduces changeover times and improves the machine’s technical availability.
ULMA Packaging incorporates RAMA in IFFA
As part of its growing collaboration with RAMA, ULMA will also present a next-generation carton former developed by RAMA. This strategic alliance reinforces ULMA’s vision for complete, integrated automation solutions—offering greater efficiency and scalability for today’s meat processing plants. Stop by their booth to see how this partnership is driving the next wave of packaging innovation.
