At Indusfood Manufacturing, Rance FPS highlighted how advanced processing, sorting, and hygiene technologies can help Indian food manufacturers reduce wastage, improve food safety, and achieve long-term operational efficiency. According to Mr Gurinder Singh, Founder & CEO, Rance FPS, the company’s focus is on bringing globally proven technologies to India while adapting them to local operating and cost conditions.

“Indian food processors are under increasing pressure to improve quality, reduce losses, and remain cost-competitive,” Singh said. “Our role is to bridge the technology gap using solutions that deliver measurable value over their entire lifecycle.”

Bigtem Makine: Proven Processing Expertise

A key highlight at the Rance FPS stand was its partnership with Bigtem Makine, a global leader with over 53 years of experience in manufacturing standalone machines and complete processing lines for fruits, vegetables, and nuts.

“Bigtem’s strength lies in its engineering depth and ability to design fully integrated processing lines that perform consistently at high capacities,” Singh explained. “These systems are particularly relevant for Indian processors looking to scale while meeting global quality benchmarks.”

Bigtem Makine’s solutions are designed for energy efficiency, durability, and stable throughput—making them suitable for both domestic-focused plants and export-oriented operations.

Raytec Vision: Optical Sorting Is No Longer Optional

Rance FPS also showcased advanced optical, laser, and X-ray sorting systems from Raytec Vision, which play a critical role in quality control and food safety.

“These machines are designed to accurately differentiate good produce from defective, foreign, or contaminated material,” Singh said. “They are highly teachable and extremely effective in high-capacity plants where manual inspection is neither practical nor reliable.”

Rance FPS recommends optical sorting at both pre-processing and post-processing stages. Early-stage sorting prevents defective raw material from consuming energy, oil, and utilities, while post-process sorting ensures consistent quality before packaging—especially important for export compliance.

IllumiPure: De-germination and Hygiene for Modern Food Plants

In addition to processing and sorting, Rance FPS introduced light-based de-germination and disinfection technologies through its association with IllumiPure.

“These systems help extend shelf life for fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and even traditional sweets like burfi, without the use of chemicals,” Singh noted.

Beyond product treatment, IllumiPure solutions can disinfect work surfaces and work areas across food processing halls, raw material storage areas, and factory entry points. This significantly reduces microbial load and cross-contamination risks in hygiene-critical zones.

IllumiPure also enables human-safe room sterilization, allowing continuous disinfection even in occupied environments—an important advantage for high-throughput food processing facilities.

Reducing Wastage Through Smarter Technology

Food wastage remains one of the biggest challenges facing the industry.

“Losses don’t stop at the farm,” Singh said. “They continue on the processing line if defects are not identified early or if shelf life is limited.”

By combining early-stage sorting, efficient processing, reduced utility consumption, and shelf-life extension, Rance FPS helps manufacturers minimize wastage while improving sustainability and profitability.

Cost Sensitivity and Lifecycle Thinking

Acknowledging the cost-sensitive nature of the Indian market, Singh emphasized the importance of evaluating total lifecycle cost rather than just upfront investment.

“A low-cost machine may appear attractive initially, but higher operating costs can delay ROI significantly,” he explained.

Rance FPS follows a ‘European technology, Indian manufacturing’ approach—maintaining global performance standards while improving affordability through partial localization. The company also offers modular solutions, allowing manufacturers to integrate individual machines into existing lines without major disruption.

India’s Path to Becoming the ‘Kitchen of the World’

Looking ahead, Singh expressed confidence in India’s food processing potential. “India has the raw material strength to become the kitchen of the world. With the right technology adoption, we can emerge as a leading global food processing and exporting nation.”

With nearly two decades of industry experience and strong after-sales support backed by locally available consumables, Rance FPS is positioning itself as a long-term technology partner for India’s growing food processing sector.
