Mespack India, a global leader in sustainable flexible packaging solutions and part of the Duravant Group, marked a successful return to ANUGA FoodTec India 2025, held from 20 to 22 August at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC), Mumbai. Speaking about the event, Mr. Anthony D’Souza, Managing Director of Mespack India, reflected on the company’s impactful participation and reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, collaboration, and sustainability in the Indian market.
A valuable return to a premier platform
“Mespack India made a return appearance at ANUGA FoodTec India, and the event proved exceptionally valuable for us,” said Mr. D’Souza. “Despite challenging weather conditions, the show attracted a high volume of visitors, which demonstrates the strength and reputation of an event like ANUGA FoodTec.”
The event hosted not only Mespack India but also its sister companies under the Duravant umbrella, offering a comprehensive view of integrated food processing and packaging solutions. Their joint participation allowed for increased collaboration and enhanced brand visibility across the food and packaging ecosystem.
Expanding reach and building relationships
Setting clear objectives, Mespack India aimed to expand its presence in the Indian food sector and increase visibility among potential clients.
“Our main goal was to expand our audience, especially within the food industry, and to increase Mespack’s visibility in this segment,” Mr D’Souza explained. “ANUGA FoodTec India was instrumental in achieving these objectives. The exhibition not only attracted our existing customers but also facilitated new partnerships and business relationships.”
Showcasing ‘Made in India’ innovation: RM260 Rotary Machine
A key highlight of Mespack’s showcase was its latest innovation — the Rotary Machine Model RM260, designed and manufactured in India. This compact, high-speed rotary machine attracted significant attention because of its standout feature: ultra-fast format changeover.
“The RM260 completes format changes in less than five minutes, which is among the fastest in this category,” said Mr. D’Souza. “Its compact design and adaptability make it ideal for the Indian subcontinent, where manufacturers need to respond quickly to dynamic market demands.”
Sustainability at the core
Visitors to the Mespack booth showed strong interest in technologies aligned with environmental responsibility and sustainability.
“There was significant interest from customers and partners around sustainability-compliant machines and environmentally responsible products,” he noted. “This reflects a growing awareness in the industry and a rising demand for solutions that reduce environmental impact and the carbon footprint.”
Mespack is meeting this demand head-on by enhancing the energy efficiency of its machines and ensuring compatibility with recyclable and biodegradable packaging materials.
Spotlighting Industry Trends
Mr. D’Souza also identified key trends that emerged during the show, including: Automation, Sustainability, Energy efficiency, Digital traceability, Clean-label packaging.
“Throughout the show, it was clear that automation, sustainability, and energy efficiency are the biggest trends shaping the future of food processing and packaging,” he observed. “There’s also a marked shift toward clean-label products and technologies that reduce waste and optimize resources across the supply chain.”
Supporting India’s evolving packaging needs
With India’s packaging landscape rapidly evolving, Mespack is proactively addressing the market’s need for sustainable and efficient solutions.
“We are deeply committed to India’s demand for sustainable packaging. Our approach includes both material innovations and new technologies that reduce waste and energy usage,” said Mr D’Souza. “We are also focused on retrofitting existing equipment to support recyclable materials — a critical part of maintaining leadership in flexible packaging sustainability.”
Forging new alliances and strengthening market presence
Participation in ANUGA FoodTec India has already yielded promising business leads and potential alliances.
“ANUGA FoodTec India has opened doors to new collaborations and partnerships, which we will be announcing shortly,” he said. “These developments will significantly strengthen our market presence and expand our service capabilities across India.”
The combined presence of Mespack and its sister companies enabled the group to provide integrated, turnkey solutions to Indian food and beverage (F&B) brands — a move that Mr. D’Souza believes will further strengthen strategic relationships.
“This collective participation helped us present comprehensive solutions, from processing to packaging, reinforcing our commitment to supporting the growth of Indian F&B brands,” he added.
