Since its inception in 1996, Sunpure has held its vision to empower Indians to make healthy food choices. Being one of India’s known edible oil brands, Sunpure has redefined the edible oil segment in the country by focusing on consumer health and striving to create a sustainable ecosystem for Indian farmers.

Over the years, the brand has come to signify its core values of purity, trust, care, and honesty.

Gokaran Singh Pawar, general manager - Sales and Operations, MK Agrotech, believes that consumers trust them to help make informed choices about health and nutrition. “We truly care about the well-being of our customers. That’s reflected in the honesty of our communication and the 100% purity of our products, powered by the perfect blend of technology with tradition. Unlike other brands that use harmful preservatives, Sunpure has made a conscious decision from day one to prioritize the health and well-being of its consumers.”

Sunpure – a brand for people and the planet

Innovation is the way of life at Sunpure. The company is one of the few brands that refrained from using any harmful mineral oil as the heating medium for the refining process. Instead, they use RO-treated water.

Sunpure claims to be India's first chemical-free processed and physically refined oil with government-patented technology. Sunpure Sunflower Oil, for instance, is free from harmful preservatives, like tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ), commonly used in food products. It is also enriched with Vitamins A, D, and E.

All of Sunpure's manufacturing units at Srirangapatna, Challakere, and Nelamanagla in Karnataka are armed with world-class machinery and equipment to ensure producing the highest quality products that are consistent in purity and taste. Further, highly skilled professionals, including the in-house research and development team, follow strict quality, hygiene, and safety protocols throughout the manufacturing process. Sunpure is also FSSAI certified.

What's more, all the manufacturing processes are eco-friendly. Sunpure uses 100% green electricity generated by windmills, producing eight times more power than it consumes. In other words, Sunpure products are good for the people and the planet.

Pawar shares, "Currently, our product portfolio consists of Sunpure Sunflower oil, Sunpure Filtered Groundnut Oil, Sunpure Rice Bran Oil, Sunpure Refined Groundnut Oil, Sunpure Vanaspati, Sunpure Palmpure (imported refined palmolein oil), Sunpure Sugar (refined via a sulfur-free process) and Sunpure swaad (whole wheat data produced using Swiss technology). Our products are available in key markets across India, namely, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa, and Tamil Nadu."

Keeping up with the trends

Trends come and go, but health remains the top priority. Sunpure, as a conscious brand, never lost sight of the vision. However, people are indeed becoming more health conscious, particularly when it comes to food choices, since the onset of the pandemic, and that's an encouraging development.

"As a brand, we are committed to actively listening to our consumers and catering to their evolving needs. Sunpure has also launched a year-long #MakesYourFoodSpecial campaign, a multilingual campaign across traditional and digital media. It shines a light on food's strong emotional influence on our lives and relationships. When you cook for your loved ones with Sunpure Sunflower Oil, you show them that you care about them, their health, and their well-being. The campaign drives home the purity of our product through a simple yet powerful message that food cooked with Sunpure is special. This further reiterates the brand's core values of purity, trust, care, and honesty, particularly given the encouraging response we received from consumers after Sunpure appointed actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood as the brand ambassador last year," Pawar says.

Road ahead

In the coming months, Sunpure will be embarking on an exciting innovation journey as a full-stack food company with a wide range of new products. “We are planning to launch quite a few food products, including spices and nuts, along with a new range of oils in 2023. Apart from the high quality of these products what will set them apart, in my opinion, is the competitive price and attractive packaging,” Pawar concludes.
