MONIN India, a leader in premium flavour solutions, launches its Anise Syrup: a spice-forward addition inspired by one of the world’s oldest and most recognisable aromatic ingredients. Known for its naturally sweet, liquorice-like profile, anise is reimagined here for beverage applications across cafés, bars, and home creations. The launch also marks one of the first steps in MONIN’s larger vision of building an Ayurveda-inspired flavour range for the global market.

Anise, one of the oldest aromatic plants in the world, has been used since ancient Roman times and remains highly relevant in Indian kitchens today. Tapping into this familiarity, MONIN’s Anise Syrup is made with natural flavourings and free from preservatives, GMOs, allergens, and lactose.

Germain Araud, Managing Director, MONIN India, says, “At MONIN, we are constantly paying attention to local insights. Through consumer studies and flavour mapping, we identified anise as a flavour that resonates strongly with Indian palates. It’s widely present in Indian cuisine, from biryanis and masala blends to being enjoyed as a mouth freshener after meals. With the launch of Anise Syrup, we’re introducing one of the first flavours in what we see as an emerging Ayurveda-inspired line. Our aim has always been to bring ingredients used in Indian households into modern beverage and culinary applications.”

MONIN, as a brand, continues to invest in local research and product innovation, and the launch of Anise Syrup reflects that focus. With the global flavoured syrup market projected to reach USD 70.16 billion by 2030, the brand sees a clear opportunity to innovate with intent in India. This launch also signals a deeper exploration of ingredients from India’s rich culinary and Ayurvedic traditions, building on flavours already part of everyday cooking and wellness practices.

Sai Harish, Head of Marketing, MONIN India, says, “We’ve always wanted to give creators more choice and a wider canvas to experiment with. The syrup captures the aromatic character of anise in a format that works seamlessly across beverages and even culinary applications. It adds a sweet-spiced note that can elevate cocktails, mocktails, coffees, teas, and desserts. It pairs just as well with fresh herbs like basil or mint as it does with richer flavours like chocolate and vanilla.”

MONIN Anise Syrup will be available pan India and select HoReCa channels nationwide.
