FoodTechBiz Desk

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has successfully facilitated the first export of premium Kashmir Areko Cherries and Scentrose Plums from Jammu & Kashmir to Singapore, marking another significant milestone in expanding the global presence of India's premium horticultural produce.

The export underscores APEDA's continued efforts to promote India's high-quality fresh fruits in international markets while creating new opportunities for growers from the region. By enabling access to premium overseas markets, the initiative is expected to enhance value realisation for farmers and strengthen the export ecosystem for horticultural produce from Jammu & Kashmir.

This achievement also reflects APEDA's commitment to diversifying export destinations, improving market access for Indian growers, and showcasing the quality, freshness, and competitiveness of India's premium fruits on the global stage. The successful shipment to Singapore is expected to pave the way for increased exports of Kashmir's premium horticultural produce, further boosting India's fresh fruit exports and supporting the country's vision of becoming a leading global supplier of high-quality agricultural products.
