The country's apex business organization, ASSOCHAM, has appointed food technology expert and first-generation successful entrepreneur Dr. Umesh Munjaji Kamble as the Chairman of the Maharashtra State Development Council for the year 2025-26.
ASSOCHAM's National President, Shri Nirmal K. Minda, officially handed over the appointment letter to Dr. Kambale on 18 October 2025. With this appointment, Dr. Kamble will also serve as a member of ASSOCHAM's National Managing Committee.
ASSOCHAM has entrusted Dr. Kambale with key responsibilities, including organizing at least four council meetings during the year, preparing policy papers and knowledge reports to strengthen Maharashtra's industrial sector, organizing major conferences and seminars, advocating for industry interests before senior officials and ministers of the central and state governments, and raising funds for various initiatives of the council.
Upon accepting the appointment, Dr. Umesh Kamble said, “From this prestigious platform of ASSOCHAM, I will put in full efforts to make Maharashtra the most investment-friendly and innovative state in the country. Along with empowering food security, the food processing industry, startups, and farmers, I will strive towards achieving zero food waste. The dream of Viksit Bharat 2047 must be realized from Maharashtra itself.”
Dr. Kambale has 21 years of experience in the food technology sector and is currently a director at F2UF Corporate Consultants Pvt. Ltd., Waste to Best Enviro Engineering LLP, and FoodTech Pathshala Pvt. Ltd. Previously, he has held senior positions at SGS India, Reliance Retail, and Godrej Agrovet. In 2023, he was honored with the AFSTI-FSSAI National Award.
