Amyris, Ingredion end collaboration on RealSweet Joint venture

Amyris takes full ownership of Brazilian precision fermentation plant and Ingredion obtains exclusive access to fermented Reb M technology

Amyris, a vertically integrated synthetic biology company and a leading innovator in industrial biotechnology, and Ingredion Incorporated, a global provider of ingredient solutions to the food manufacturing industry, announced a mutual agreement to wind down their RealSweet joint venture.

As part of the agreement, Amyris will assume full ownership of the Precision Fermentation Plant located in Barra Bonita, Brazil. Additionally, Ingredion will obtain exclusive rights to utilize Amyris’ advanced fermentation technology to manufacture and commercialize fermented Rebaudioside M (Reb M), a next-generation, zero-calorie sweetener. This strategic realignment positions both companies to drive greater commercial success while laying the groundwork for continued collaboration in the future.
