Toppan is a diversified global group with more than 50,000 employees and a leading presence in fields including packaging, printing, and security.

GL BARRIER is a brand of Toppan's transparent high barrier film developed by unique transparent vapor deposition and coating technologies. Contributes to create a sustainable society

Toppan has increased its stake to acquire a majority shareholding in Max Speciality Films, a leading Indian manufacturer of BOPP films. It helps to expand the company's network for supplying mono-materials to diverse customers in global markets, contributing to creating a sustainable society.

Due to the population growth, the plastic waste problem is getting serious. Commenting on this, Tetsuo Sato , responsible for business development in Toppan’s- Global Packaging business, says, "To contribute to solving these social issues, we are developing and manufacturing mono-material packages by utilizing the strengths of GL BARRIER, which has the largest share of global market for the transparent vapor deposited barrier film."

He adds, "By combining GL BARRIER, which uses PET, PE, and PP as base materials, with sealant materials made from the same materials, it is possible to provide various mono-material barrier packages with both barrier properties and better environmental performance for various applications."
