GEA has recently extended its range of homogenizers with the GEA Ariete Homogenizer 3160 and the GEA TriplexPanda Lab Homogenizer for the dairy, beverage, food, pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetics industries.

The GEA Ariete Homogenizer 3160 completes the series for medium and large-sized process lines and closes a gap in this series: It features up to 1500 bar, with significantly increased flow rate capacity between 200 and 1200 bar. Like all Ariete homogenizers, it can be customized with more than 300 options for easy integration into any sanitary or aseptic process line. With their wide range of available materials, low running speed and linear plunger velocity, the Ariete models perform at their best even with abrasive and viscous products. Adding options from GEA – such as the patented homogenizing valve NanoVALVE or the Oil Pure System for measuring condensed water and oil –lowers power, water and lubrication oil consumption, delivering further production cost savings.

GEA TriplexPanda laboratory homogenizer for challenging products

The GEA TriplexPanda Lab Homogenizer is a three-piston tabletop unit for treating emulsions, dispersions and nanoparticles for a wide range of applications. Thanks to high-grade, high-performance super duplex stainless steel plus special, high-wear-resistant materials, the machine can operate with a very wide range of products. As the best choice for product development and small production batches of between 1 l/h and 100 l/h, this special design also enables the GEA TriplexPanda to process challenging products such as sticky or highly viscous emulsions, preparations with micro and nanofibers as well as products containing pieces or crystals. This makes the new homogenizer suitable for even sophisticated applications such as plant-based dairy alternatives, food ingredients and the production of nanocellulose.

According to GEA, the easy-to-use, plug & play unit has been specially designed to meet the demands of laboratory testing and small-scale batches. Thanks to its three pistons, it ensures high performance in terms of product flow stability and homogenization. Reduced pulsations allow for very smooth and gentle processing as well as quiet running. Like all GEA laboratory homogenizers, the TriplexPanda is actuated by a camshaft transmission system, enabling maintenance-free operation. Due to its CIP capability, the liquid end guarantees full cleanability with no dead spots.

The unit is available in two versions for continuous operation up to 400 bar with a maximum flow rate of 100 l/h or 600 bar for up to 60 l/h. Both ensure full scalability and guarantee results that are comparable in quality to those of industrial homogenizers.

All GEA homogenizers are designed according to the EU safety rules (CE standards) and comply with other relevant industry certifications and guidelines such as USDA, FDA, 3-A, ATEX, EHEDG and cGMP.

Testing before buying

At the GEA Process Technology Center for homogenization located in Parma, Italy, customers can test liquid products with GEA experts. All processes can be followed in real-time via video conferencing, and participants can contact GEA experts at the same time. GEA also offers webinars on-demand for both new homogenizers at webinar.gea.com.
